Laurel Health Awarded State & County Commendations for 50 Years of Community Care

The venue was specially chosen for Laurel Health’s 50th anniversary community celebration in tribute to where the organization was founded.

TIOGA & BRADFORD COUNTIES, PA — During this year's Blossburg V.I.B.E. Fall Festival, Laurel Health was recognized by local, county, and state officials for decades of serving the local community. Commendations were awarded by the offices of Senator Gene Yaw and Representative Clint Owlett. They were presented to Laurel Health leadership during the Blossburg festival, chosen especially for Laurel Health’s community celebration to pay tribute to where Laurel Health was founded in 1973.
Laurel Health staff, leadership, and board members came together for a fun day of health outreach to celebrate 50 years of delivering healthcare. The team provided free health screenings, community flu shots, special anniversary giveaways, and a provider meet-and-greet with Tina Doud-Kearns, CRNP at the Blossburg Laurel Health Center, located at 6 Riverside Plaza in Blossburg, PA.
The Laurel Health Centers were founded to assure patients had access to great care close to home following the closure of the Blossburg hospital. Its primary care centers were strategically placed throughout Tioga County to assure no one had to drive more than 30 minutes for family medicine services. Over the the past five decades, Laurel Health gradually expanded services and locations to provide convenient, wide-ranging care to even more patients in the twin tiers region of northcentral Pennsylvania and lower New York. The system now has 14 locations throughout Tioga and Bradford Counties offering primary care, dental care, mental health, walk-in care, pediatrics, nutrition & diabetes education, and specialty care like chiropractic and sports medicine services.
